Jayant did his early education at Goa University and later he attained a PhD at IISc-Bangalore with Prof. G. Mehta while working on Total Synthesis of Natural Product. He then joined Max Planck Institute (MPI) Dortmund in Germany as Alexander von Humboldt Fellow with Prof. H. Waldman for two years and that is where he explored the total synthesis of Natural Products on solid Support.

After a brief post-doctoral study in Germany, Jayant joined Syngenta Research Center at Goa in 2006 as a Team Leader and further held the Group Leader position at Syngenta from 2012 – to 2016. Over the last 10 years at Syngenta, he worked on several projects from Lead Generation to Optimization projects and gained expertise in the field of agrochemical research. Over the years Jayant has published\coauthored 17 articles in internationally recognized journals and 20 patents.

From 2016 – until today he is leading the R and D – Crop Protection Business at Godrej Agrovet, Mumbai.
